Klinec Belaquela, 2004
The Brda - Collio region in Slovenia's far west is considered one of the most charming and scenic regions of the country. This area of gently rolling hills, occupied by picturesque villages and dotted with small churches, borders the Gorica plains to the east and rises from the Italian Friuli plains to the Korada ridge in the north. The soil of Brda - Collio consists of marl and sandstone in alternations. Since the hills are prone to erosion, most of the vineyards must be terraced. They are open towards the Adriatic Sea and take full advantage of about 2,900 hours of sunshine per year.
This wine matures first in mulberry & acacia barrels for one year and in large oak barrels for another year. It has a delicate variety of aromas, including melon, acacia blossoms, raisins, and dried apricots. Alcohol and acids are perfectly balanced, making it a great wine with a full-bodied and harmonious mouth feel. This mature wine is reminiscent of honey, vanilla, and hazelnuts.
Kobal Blaufrankisch, 2012
Blaufränkisch is a special premium dark, ruby-colored wine with an aroma which resembles overripened blackberries, chocolate, black mulberries and dried plums. The harmony of fruity aromas is nicely rounded up with wood characteristics both in scent and in flavor, with a moderately long velvet finish. We recommend allowing the wine to decant for up to 45 minutes before consumption.
Mansus Klarnica, 2008
Who needs dessert when you can have this Klarnica! Baked apples and pear tart aromas, oily, silky smooth - this wine will seduce anybody! Klarnica is a local variety grown only in Vipava Valley in Slovenia. Mansus Klarnica is an organic, small-production semi-sweet wine that is a rare find for wine lovers!
Pullus Pinot Grigio, 2013
Macerated for 72 hours with skins gives this wine a light, friendly, and clear pinky, salmon color. Made from perfect ripe grapes that were picked THREE TIMES OVER THE SPAN OF SEPTEMBER, this Pinot Grigio was given cold maceration, ML, partial lees aging, and 10% neutral oak maturation. Starting with a delightful rosy hue typical of the grape when grown in superior climates, this dry wine delivers everything wine lovers expect from Pinot Grigio - and much, much more! The nose offers ripe pear, green melon and floral notes, while the discreet oak and the creamy quality given by lees aging round out the experience on the palate with a sensational and lushess spice note you don't expect from a Pinot Grigio. A wine with great structure, finesse, and elegance, it is perfect for pasta, white meat and young cheeses.
Pullus Pinot Noir, 2013
The Slovenian climate is ideal for Pinot Noir, and this is an easy-going, bright, fruity and clean pinot that come in at at very low price! Raspberries and strawberries on the nose, medium body and juicy, mouthwatering acidity.
Pullus Pinot Noir Black, 2006
The Slovenian climate is ideal for Pinot Noir, and this example shows what could be achieved with this variety. Extended maceration has brought out the nuances of ripe grapes, and maturation in large, neutral barrels has preserved them.
The aroma of smokey raspberries and strawberries and dill leads to a medium-full-bodied, vegetal red-fruit palate and a velvety finish. Very Burgundy-like, but more vibrant than most.
Pullus Sauvignon Blanc, 2013
SUSTAINABLE FARMING Sauvignon Blanc in the Pullus
line is made from grapes harvested FOUR TIMES OVER THE
COURSE OF ONE MONTH to ensure optimal ripeness and
complexity. Protective technology ensures and allows very lows
levels of added sulphur, freshness, and the preservation of
varietal characteristics found in much higher price points of
sauvignon blanc. Partial lees aging adds a roundness unexpected
in a wine made for drinking now. A dry, delightfully rounded
wine with grapefruit, passion fruit, mango, guava and pineapple
on the nose and hints of paprika, minerality, tropical fruits, and
delightful acidity on the palate make this a springtime treat with
asparagus dishes and seafood.
Sanctum Chardonnay, 2011
This barrel-fermented chardonnay from Stajerska Slovenia has a full body and nice acidity. Not oaky and pleasantly crisp and aromatic.
Sanctum Merlot, 2006
This Goriska Brda wine tastes like an old world version of a top CA merlot - big, ripe, vibrant, yet silky smooth, with almost 15% alcohol that you will never taste. Dusty, smoky, tobacco and chocolate aromas dominate the nose, finish is long.
Sanctum Pinot Noir, 2009
Aged in French oak, this cool climate Burgundy style Pinot Noir is a gentle, fruity and just a touch smoky wine with pleasant acidity.
