La Plata Riberia Del Duero, 2008
La Planta was aged for 6 months in seasoned French and American oak. Dark ruby in color, it offers up a pleasant bouquet of cedar, spice cabinet, violets, cola, and black cherry. Supple and easy-going, this medium-bodied wine has some light tannin, ample spicy red and black fruits, good flavors, and modest length.

Another unbelievable value, drinks like a wine double its price.
Algairen Tempranillo, 2006
This amazing Tempranillo has been hand harvested to assure the fruit is at its prime, undergoes stainless steel fermentation and then is put in French Barrique barrels for 30 days to soften the tannins, as an end result the wine has great berry on the nose, on the palate the berries continue to show their presence with a slight dusting of earthy tones and spices. For the price value an amazing alternative to the higher priced wines, it delivers an amazing sense of terroir.
Bodegas Las Orcas Decenio Crianza, 2004
Bodegas Las Orcas is a classic styled and earth driven Rioja from the Alavesa region. Heavily reliant on old vine Tempranillo, these wines are dry farmed and fermented with native yeasts. All of the wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered and are matured in older oak, about half French and half American. This is a 3rd generation winery.

Black cherry, smoky and cherry notes are a bit austere in this lean red, but the flavors hang together and the firm tannins turn juicy on the finish.
